Something about this age!

2.5 is such a sweet age — in fact, it might just be my favorite age of all! (I think I've said that about all of her ages.)

There is just something about this age. Something almost magical!

As Capria goes through the last 6 precious months of her second year, I decided to write down all the things I treasure. These little things sometimes seem like a part of our everyday life, something that will always be there.

Until they’re not.

And I don’t want to miss a moment, or forget any of this!

Here's what I treasure the most:

That magical little voice. When she was a baby, I'd wonder "What is she thinking?!" Now, I can hear all the thoughts that have been running through her mind this time. She was an early talker and people (i.e. strangers) always comment on how much she talks. Conversations with her are a source of never-ending entertainment, and sometimes it just plain blows you away! When she says "Daddy is my hero" or "Mommy, can you play with me all day? Come on, come on!" or "Daddy, can you be a pirate?" I can't even handle it. How can you resist that request?

When she asks for "one more story" at night, we admit that we do as we're asked. We are just soaking it all up, soaking it all in.

She sees everyday as the best day ever. She wakes up saying "It's light outside!" and can't wait to get ready for the day... but not without a morning snuggle on the couch first.

She loves to explore She always wants to be outside, looking for her rabbit "Hoppy", watching for airplanes in the sky, swinging on the swings or throwing rocks down the sewer grates.

She is always worried about others Anytime she thinks that someone is hurt or in trouble, she always wants to know every detail of what happened

She loves pink-- it is all pink, all the time!

She's fiercely independent and wants to do everything herself
