My sweet bambina,

Today, you are one year old. I always thought time passed quickly but this has truly been the fastest passing year of my life. A year full of laughter, learning & memories.

How did you grow up right before my eyes?

I’m filled with joy that you’re finally one. I’ve watched you discover how to walk, how to clap, how to communicate. I’ve watched you smile and love. You’re so determined, engaging, loving and curious.  One year ago today, you made me a mom. You gave me the greatest privilege of my life.

Sure, there was lack of sleep & painful pumping but there was also so much joy, wonder and purpose. I try to remember to tell you this every day, but you are so loved, wanted and cared for. When you were in my tummy, Daddy and I spent hours daydreaming about who you would be, how we wanted to raise you.

How can I put into words how much I love you? How can any birthday gift or themed photo shoot or perfectly planned party compare to the unconditional love that I have for you? It can’t. I am constantly overwhelmed with love for you.

Someday, I’ll read this to you so you might be able to get a small glimpse of how truly incredible it is to be your mama. By simply being you, you have given me everything.
