Half-Birthday Celebration

My mom made my childhood incredibly magical— and she did it by making all of the ordinary things extraordinary. And the “half birthday” was born!

So we celebrated when you turned 2 and a 1/2. We had a banner, balloons, a vegan cupcake, a scrapbook and your first ride on a rollercoaster. Perhaps some people would consider a half birthday to be “too much”. But, one unbelievably fast year of babyhood -- that's all we get. Next, just a few years of toddlerhood and a short time to create a childhood of good memories. We only have you as a child, our “angel baby” as you like to say, for such a short while. We want to be present, create memories and capture them. And when there is a choice between being with you or working or doing chores -- we always want to choose you. Always!
